| Is there a list of features that will be in 16? I'm ready to buy, but don't want to buy 15 only to have a much improved 16 come out a month later and have to pay substantially for an update. |

There will be no features list until it is released. No previews. Remember that when you buy a full version of CB it is good, including new versions, for one year from the purchase date.
That is, if you buy CB15 today and CB16 comes out in February, then you can update in February at no additional charge. |

| Okay, we're now roughly halfway through November and still no word or even hints on CB16. |

Not to sound like a brown nose user, but having said that I have something to consider.
When you look at all the suggested features in the other forum if Pete keeps adding all those I doubt we would see version 16 till the next millennium.
So I am patient as I point out whenever a software package is late in the target date, "I would rather see it right, than right now."
Of course your mileage may vary.

Tough to say. Programming may end up using up the whole fall season to work in all our new features as well as working out any bugs. To sum it up, it's been a programming challenge for the team.
To all our users, we apologize for the delay of the new version. We're working hard to get it out to you. |

Last time they gave us a rough idea it started numerous users to ask why it is not ready yet.
Perhaps this is why they are reluctant to give a new target date.

Sorry my birthday is next week. I have been using the program since version 6 or 7 so they are waiting for my birthday!

Hmm... My subscription ran out after the first of the year and, honestly, I'm not quite sure I want to plop down $50 to renew. Here's my hangups:
1. A version 15.0.1 update was posted last September and has been in perpetual beta. I would have expected updates to have been resolved and out of beta by now.
2. While database updates are great, the pricing information always seems way off. Since they're based on Atomic Avenue pricing, they don't reflect real world street values and thus makes them inaccurate for insurance purposes.
3. While I appreciate the hard work and effort that is going into version 16, some form of a teaser might help convince existing customers to renew their subscriptions. ;)
4. I'm not at all impressed with the online reporting features. Reports just feel like an afterthought and aren't all that useful in real world situations when I really need info about my collection. I end up just creating a serious of PDF's that show all the info I need, which isn't all that convenient truth be told. I also get a lot of "500 - Program Error" messages when viewing reports so...kind of a dead feature to be honest. There has to be a better way to handle this, something more modern and efficient that just works.
I think what's really hurting ComicBase right now is the lack of any online features that are worth a damn. Guys, if you're interested, I'm a professional front-end web developer who specializes in highly modern web apps, including mobile apps. Feel free to ping me and I'll be happy to speak with you about my ideas and how to make ComicBase kick major ass. :)

Jeff ,
We've talked many time about this situation. Perhaps we might get together sometime, and lay out what w think we want and present it to Pete, and the Legion of Human-Computing members.
Maybe we can work up an add on for on-line reports that works off what ComicBase has right now.
There is a kick-off party this Saturday for FenCon in Addison. You, and anyone else on these boards are welcome to come.

Immortal,
I live in Irving. (I used to an Asst. Manager of the Ridgewwod in you neck of the woods. Not sure it is still open.)
FenCon is the local Science-Fiction I of which I'm on staff. This year our toastmaster is Peter David. Here's the web site: http://www.fencon.org/
Last couple years I've been Head of Programming, and I always made sure we have Comic panels.

My Archive subscription runs out today. I've decided to hold off on renewing until the next version is announced &/or released. Or if there's a renewal sale <hint>. Right now I just can't justify $130 for the Archive renewal until the new version is released. Sorry guys. Hopefully the new version is right around the corner. |

| Apologizes folks, I know CB16 has been on many people's minds in terms of when it will finally be released. Still don't have a target date but we'll definitely notify everyone when it goes live. Pete and the programmers are doing their best to get it out. |
