Ranma 1/2

When Ranma Saotome and his father, Genma, don’t listen to their guide’s warning about the cursed training ground of Ten Thousand Lakes, they learn that the curse is all too real. When doused with cold water, Ranma becomes a chesty young woman and Genma turns into a panda. Hot water reverses the effect—but only until the next time.

So begins a hilarious romp of mistaken identity and gender-bending when Ranma learns that his father has engaged him to a daughter of his friend Soun Tendo in order to carry on the Tendo Martial Arts School. Katsumi and Nabiki don’t like the idea, until they decide that tomboy Akane can have him!

Rumiko Takahashi is widely renowned both in Japan and the United States for her brilliant storytelling skills in manga and anime. She has also written Lum Urusei*Yatsura and Mermaid Forest.
