Jack of Hearts

    (Marvel, 1984)
™ and ©1984 Marvel Entertainment Group

The Jack of Hearts limited series begins, interestingly enough, with Jack trying to kill himself. It seems that his immense power has been steadily growing, to the point that if he does not release it, he will die. Unfortunately, his supply of stored energy has become so huge that any release would imperil the entire Earth. Jack sees no choice but to end his own life in order to save humanity.

It is at this point that a race of aliens seeks out Jack as a source of energy to revive their dying sun. In the four issues of this limited series, we join our favorite human playing card as he becomes embroiled in the plots and intrigues which determine the fates of both worlds.
