IDW first proved its mettle in creating comic books based on licensed properties with its adaptations of 24, CSI, and Metal Gear Solid. Based on the action espionage video game of the same name, Metal Gear Solid features some truly distinctive artwork from Ashley Wood and a cast of unusual characters with some unique abilities who might feel at home in a super-hero comic. Similar to the way the video game itself plays out, the book follows the exploits of Solid Snake, a master operative who is successful in his line of work because he’s able to be sneaky and stay out of sight.
