Mad Dogs
(Eclipse, 1992)
™ 1992 Chuck Dixon. Story ©1992 Charles Dixon. Art ©1992 Victor Toppi
Guy Brennen was a burnt-out ex-cop who felt he had nothing left to live for. In his day, he had been one of the good guys who had played the game a little too hard for the department’s liking. Then Carla died, and the game didn’t seem worth playing at all…
His redemption came when an old friend offered him a new job: heading up a special strike force that would report directly to the district attorney. This strike force would be comprised of other ex-cops like Brennen—rough and tumble types who were good at bringing criminals to justice, but bad at following rules. This crew had each been cops 24 hours a day, and when they were thrown off the force they had no place else to go. Brennen offered them the same deal he had been given: a second chance at being a cop—but this time with no department rules or politics. All they had to do was take on the worst criminal kingpins in the city.
