The Al Williamson Reader

 ALWR   (Pure Imagination, 2008)

ô and © Pure Imagination

A collection of the classic Golden Age artistís work that makes up in art what it often lacks in writing. These short and often serialized pieces, and there are some entertaining, concise pieces, but a lot of it is really just a product of its time and market, hastily written for the pulpier comics. This does not detract from Williamsonís art, however, which rarely shows the strain of deadlines. Some of the art is rough in reproduction, but considering the artifacts Pure Imagination was probably using to restore Williamsonís art to page, itís a solid rescue.
