Simon Bisley’s work has appeared in such magazines as 2000 A.D., Heavy Metal, and Judge Dredd Magazine, and also in (slightly) more mainstream comics like Terminator: The Enemy Within, Lobo, Lobo’s Back, and Image’s Body Count. The ComicBase review of Bisley’s Scrapbook, partly attributes his detailed and realistic painting style to his “fearless use of gore.”
His talents are put to good use in this collection of paintings and black and white illustrations, each depicting a pivotal moment from the Bible or the life of Christ. Each picture includes an accompanying quote from the scripture that provided the inspiration.
The softcover edition, published in a small digest–sized format, was limited to 1,000 copies, while only 500 copies of the hardcover version were printed.
