Marvel Monsters: From the Files of Ulysses Bloodstone (And the Monster Hunters)

Ulysses Bloodstone spent most of his life fighting monsters. His daughter, the beautiful Elsa Bloodstone, has her father’s thirst for action and adventure, but she’s not afraid to embrace modern concepts in her monster-hunting. Thus is born “BlogStone,” Elsa’s regularly updated web journal, and a database of some Marvel Universe monsters, collected in this one-shot. The text-heavy material also includes correspondence between Elsa and She-Hulk, journal entries by Dr. Strange, and others…

This format, a clever twist on an Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe, is a great way of disseminating information and anecdotes about classic monsters like Xemnu, Taboo, and Groot, as well as locations like Monster Isle. A number of writers collaborate on this fun companion piece to 2005’s “Marvel Monster Group” event.
