I recently purchased ComicBase Express v15.0 after entering only 3 long boxes of comics and then trying to update, I get the following:

Having trouble updating exchange rates: (0)
--6--AED 3.673769
Updated: 3/11/2012

It then says that a new title and update is available to download. While updating and then reading files, I get the following error:

An error occurred when reading the update file:
Operation is not allowed in this context. (3219)

followed immediately by:

Can't import issue: !Gag! (Harrier) 2
Cannot open database ". It may not be a database that your
application recognizes, or it may be corrupt.

followed by:

Can't import issue: !Gag! (Harrier) 2
Operation is not allowed in this context.

followed by:

The update was stopped. Some of your data may not have been updated.

Once the error messages are cleared, I can no longer enter any data into the program. This window pops up:

Recordset can't be updated.

And finally, when I attempt to exit the program:

Run-time error '-2147467259 (80004005)

Cannot open database ". It may not be a database that your
application recognizes, or it may be corrupt.

I did a uninstall/reinstall of the program to no avail. Is there a problem with the database itself?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Update-

It took 15 minutes but ComicBase is now working again, I just left it alone. I'm downloading the updates for the third time, fingers crossed. Success! Downloaded 1,490 covers as well. Compacted once again and it seems stable.

I'm installing ComicBase 15 Archives on my laptop, I have had ComicBase installed on my main desktop since ComicBase 6. After the first update it hit the max limit and I did a compact and verify and then started another update and that's were the trouble started. The exact same things as Ghostwind experienced happened. The only thing I could do was force shutdown ComicBase.

I restarted ComicBase and have been waiting for 15 minutes as it was not responding, calculating collection value, it's zero, I don't have my collection on it yet. It's now been 5 Full minutes since I restarted ComicBase and it's stuck on the Loading page (updating pricing flags).

Any help would be great-thanks!

Launch the software and run the compact and verify feature (File Menu>File Tools>Compact and Verify)
