Posted - 04/29/2012 : 12:51:16 I noticed a price discrepancy when I went to add a 100 Page Super Spectacular comic to my inventory. I will use 100 Page Super Spectacular #12 as an example. The NM price for this book listed in this title goes for $75 but if you were to go to Superboy (1st Series) #185, which is where it should go seeing as how the indicia says Superboy #185, the NM price there is $33. It seems that the issues that are part of a main series are different than those listed as 100 Page Super Spectacular issues. Any known reason for this? I am curious about this. |

Mark, Only issues #7 - 13 are listed twice in different Titles. If you look at the covers, you can see both the DC-x number and the Issue number for the other Title.
It should be noted that the indicia only list the "other title" info. The indicia for issues #7 - #13 do not say "100 Page Super Spectacular." The only indication that issues #7 - #13 are also part of the 100 Page Super Spectacular series is the DC-x number on the cover.
My recommendation would be to remove issues #7 - #13 from the 100 Page Super Spectacular title and then, in the 100 PSS title description, list the locations of issues #7 - #13 in the other DC titles. |

Posted - 05/01/2012 : 11:07:30 Sorry, I'm not familiar with the 'DC 100 Page Super Spectacular' title in the database. My Comic knowledge doesn't go back that far. Are all the issues under this title listed twice under different titles? |

Posted - 04/29/2012 : 15:45:19 I would imagine this is a by-product of the unique situation where these books are listed in two places (if I understand the situation correctly). Because the values in CB are based on sales in Atomic Avenue, obviously the system thinks these are two different books and is pricing them based on sales under each title.
It's rare that a book is listed in more than one place in CB (on purpose). |
