What are these made of? Are they different in terms of manufacturing material(s)? And what companies make them? It seems impossible to find out where they have these slabs made and I've heard various reasons for one company being better than the other. Knowing the companies they use would allow a potential buyer or someone wanting comics graded better cause he/she could contact the BBB and get a consumer report on the companies to make a better judgement. Any know the answers to these questions? Thanks.

One is more known, cgc , while the other is upcoming? Also BBB? I heard from many that the BBB isn't what it used to be. So between cgc and pgx is a preference and what your willing to pay for. I don't know who makes the cases but I'm sure it's patented

If the cases are patented, then the patents must be available from the U.S. Patent Office.

If the cases are a trade secret, then they can't be patented because the contents of patent applications must be publicly available.

The BBB doesn't do research and create consumer reports; it only stores those reports that it receives from others, usually consumers. Also, the national office of the BBB doesn't consolidate information about businesses. A consumer's letter or other communication would be filed with the local BBB and that's pretty much where it will stay. Each city's BBB operates independently in this way, so you might find nothing about one of these companies on file with a dozen bureaus in a dozen cities, then find something in the thirteenth bureau.
