When performing a search/query through the Atomic Avenue advanced search feature and wanting to search for any type of CGC, PGX, RCGC, RPGX comics; a person must also have to search through listings that include standard letter grade comics of equivalent grade. i.e. a search of min grade: CGC 8.0 will show listing of books that are not CGC graded but are VF or better. These results also give listings that do not include any CGC/PGX copies available, for example: A search of min. grade: CGC 9.0 will yield results of listings of NM copies and NO CGC/PGX COPIES AT ALL.
In no case should standard un-certified and unsealed NM books be considered of higher consequence of a CGC/PGX 9+ in a search. A potential customer looking for CGC or PGX only books must wade through hours of looking at listings that don't have any books of that type at all. I personally gave up after a couple hours and making it to the letter B. I would consider this a major issue regarding a simple matter that affects the ability of a sales-driven venue/website to function properly and prove itself as a truly viable method of selling comics online.
To put it simply, the grades of CGC/PGX 0-9.8 and RCGC/RPGX 0-9.8 should be elevated above Standard Letter Grades (P,F,G,VG,FN,VF,NM) in search results.
I have actually called in about this issue several times to no avail. I believe this issue would not only contribute to increased sales for the site and it's sellers but also make it easier for the buyer to purchase exactly what they are looking for without great expense of time and patience.
One of the first rules of the business of selling is: "Make it as easy as possible to buy and they will buy more often."
This should be a first priority for Atomic Avenue Webmasters/Developers.

| I respectfully disagree. Many of us are not interested in buying slabbed books. No reason to "elevate" them above similarly high grade unslabbed copies. |

I use the term elevate in respect to search query priority held by how the comics searched for are categorized in results when searching for only "slabbed" books. Not "Elevate" in importance or book value. If you wouldn't be searching for CGC/PGX books then a simple list level elevation wouldn't affect you anyways.
This is about correct distinctions being recognized by the inventory search engine. I think that all customers should be able to search for the type of books they are interested in without great difficulty, respecting all preferences. |
