Nice try on 2nd part of question... ;-) Will they bite? But it wouldn't be a surprise, then, would it?

Looks they're at like Booth 1314... Just across the aisle to the "Northwest" of the Gold and Silver Pavilion in the lower right hand corner of the map... Highlighted in yellow

Wasn't really trying to get a secret divulged. It used to be that San Diego was the annual annoucement for the newest version. Not so much a secret as just plain old good marketing. Since a new version was skipped last year and may have taken to March to beta test and complete, why not wait a bit longer and announce at San Diego this year? Just makes sense.

Heh! You got it!

I gave a bit more detail in the user group meeting yesterday, but ComicBase 16 comes with badges (a.k.a. achievements) for things such as submitted correction points, adding new issues to the database, and lots more. If you're not at Comic-Con, you'll see more when we officially launch ComicBase 16 on Tuesday (we'll be driving home from the Con on Monday and, frankly, will be absolutely dead on our feet).

Badges?

One of my fave movies comes to mind:
"Badges??!!! We don't need no stinking badges!!!".

No offense intended, I actually look forward to what these will be like!
:)

Pete and team,
I am not sure whether I or others will have the pleasure of seeing you guys In Chicago for the con but congratulations on the announcement of CB 16. I think we would all love to hear feedback from San Diego after you guys can breathe again and learn a bit more about the user group meeting, what it is and how one can participate.

Congrats again and have a sucessful con.

OK, so now that Tuesday's come & gone, what's the scoop? Details, info, downloads. What is with the comiccon exclusive Archive edition? I need a new toy to play with tonight!

Oh come on. There has to be something you can pass on to the loyal forum people. You already announced it at SDCC so is there something you can copy and paste to give us an idea what is in 16.

Whats the exclusive look like? Picture?!??! I would have gone but last year when getting there Thursday and getting out tickets for that year, they moved the next year tickets next door in a different hotel. Each year we do the same thing. So that year we had to walk to the hotel and when we got there (10am) a guy outside shouts "SOLD OUT!" I was like ?@?!?!?!? He then replies come back at 5am and wait in line for chances at 8 am..... I was a little ticked after coming to SDCC for over 20 years and being "locked out" left a bad taset in my mouth. People who gone for years should have been awarded (cant think of the word) as showing consistency and dedication..... Nope couldnt get tickets this year ( 2012) so I missed out on seeing Pete and gang. I would have picked it up Im sure.

If you are going to release 16 today, please do not.

Releasing a product on the weekend or over the weekend where no one will be there to support questions and issues is not a good idea. I recall the same thing happened with 15 and there were issues that people wanted resolved but had to wait over the weekend to see addressed.

Or you could simply wait until Monday to install & play with it. I'd rather have the weekend to tinker around & figure things out for myself.

Ok, so what's the scoop?

If it won't be up for download today, at least please post the info about it. Give us the same info that you gave ComicCon last week.

It would probably be safer to wait for the official announcement before trying to download the new version. All the 'behind the scene' pieces may not be in place yet (but it looks like it might be 'real soon now... (or at least I can hope...)).

Agree. that was how 15 was released as well, on the downloads first prior to release and the installs did not go over so well.
