By the end of their first series, the Micronauts had finally defeated their dread enemy Baron Karza. Nevertheless, the battle had cost them dearly: they had lost friends and lovers, and had seen multitudes killed in the struggle against Karza’s rule. Victory was not sweet.

At the start of this second series, the Micronauts are on a journey to find peace within themselves. Acroyear was once the warrior king of Spartak, but has turned from war to become a priest. Similarly, Huntarr was bio-engineered in Karza’s body banks to be the ultimate instrument of war, but now must discover how to live during peacetime.

These and the rest of the crew of the Endeavor II were puzzling over how to live in their new world. Then the ship suffered an accident in hyperspace, sending them out of control. When it was over, they found themselves not just in a changed universe—but in a different one altogether!
