I am currently running three databases in CB. One for experimenting which is 99.9% empty, one for my general collection, and one for my professionally graded books. A thought occurred to me about the CGC collection in that I'm only using a very tiny fraction of CB and am highly unlikely to use any of the vast majority of smaller/oddball titles and books.
Would it be of any benefit to delete all of the titles and issues that I don't use or would CB repopulate it every week during the updates? For that matter, would I need to do the updates or could I just add the titles and issue numbers as needed, getting the information from one of the other two databases and then importing from the CB site?

For my graded books, I'm using roughly 0.11% of the titles in CB and even less of the total issues. It is solely an inventory. If I want to look up information, I have my regular collection db to use.
I'm only looking at cleaning out my graded db, everything else would stay intact.

What's your reason to keep them small?

Sorry, been busy for a couple of days.
I keep them separate....uh...because they are separate in my collection? I don't recall my reasoning when I started it, probably so I could get a quicker glance on my phone. I don't do much with my raw books but the graded ones can be pretty fluid and if I'm at a show it is a lot faster to check 900
titles rather then 3,600 if I'm dealing with a cruddy connection. Plus, I added grades to CB for my CGC books to differentiate the CGC Signature Series books. "CGCSS" was too big but "CGSS" works fine. With the new grades, I also took out the pricing since the Signature Series books values are far more subjective.
I can't believe I forgot the option to only update the Titles in Stock. Thanks for the idea!

I'm curious, but what does it benefit you to keep them separate?

Deleted titles would definitely be repopulated during weekly updates. So if you really want to keep your CGC database small, don't run an update on it.
