ComicBase is great, packed with more information than anyone could want. So much that the spreadsheet has no hope of ever fitting on the screen at once. I rearrange/resize the columns so that the information I like to see is visible without scrolling, but the next time I open the program, all the columns are back to their original size and order. Is there any way to save a change in the field order permanently?
I've made changes of the sort you describe and they've remained in place for a couple of years now. I lose them very infrequently - maybe once in 18 months - usually when I update to a newer version of the software. I'm sorry to say I don't know what I did to make the changes stay in place so long ago, but I want you to know that it is possible. Hopefully, someone with more technical knowledge of CB will be able to help.
Killed off Sidekick long ago--was slowing down my whole system. Strange no one upstairs has an answer for me. It seems is should be possible somehow. Or not--would be nice to know. I'll try again, maybe the changes will stay.
Sidekick could be the cause/solution. I've never used it -- these boards have had stories of problems caused by Sidekick since it was introduced. Maybe not having it on is why my changes have stayed in place.
